FLIP MARLOU was born in autumn of 1989 in Germany.
Though at this point his
development as a DJ wasn’t defined yet, it can be assumed that even back then
his passion and love for the music already was flowing through his veins.
It all began in the early years of his youth as he discovered the ment of the music
for himself. First of all he was confronted with the popular music styles.
He enjoyed the sound of „Seeed“ and DownBeat Classics like the
„SmokingBeats“ Sampler, which are always heavy on the basses.
FLIP MARLOU was also caught by a thing called Hip Hop. He enjoyed the beats of
approved american producers like Dr.Dre and Timbaland. He got involved with a
percussion group at his school and from time to time he could be found in the
park playing the bongos. In his spare time he applied himself to collect music
.The finesses of diffrent artists and their music always gave him a positive
vibe. „Dj Shaddow“ and „Dj Krush“ for example were first idols at the
turntables.
He decided to bring himself into this music thing. First of all he
worked with the beginner friendly programm „E-jay“. It didn’t take a long
time till he exhausted the possibillities of the programm. With „Reason“ he
found an other option to create music.
As it comes to music Flip Marlou never had a conservative view. He’s always
interested in the new. Surely, nowadays his focus is placed on Minimal, Techno
and Tech-House where names like Trentemoller, Pan-Pot, Gaiser, Leonel Castillo
and Ricardo Villalobos are big influences for him.
As he bought himself some fresh Turntables he was able to speculate about an
activity as a DJ starting with Hip Hop and than changed to his favourite music
Techno and Minimal. He found like-minded people which supported him with his
ideas and conceptions. So far, the first gigs were carried out and future seems
to wait with open arms....
FLIP MARLOU is an active member of the DJ-Team „DREIKLANG“.
