Stark alias Christophe THAËRON born on 19/10/1973 in Versailles (France) same city where AIR & PHOENIX come from.
I grew in a musical universe influenced by the “New-Wave” and the Punk movement by listening the vinyl records of my elder sister (The Clash, The Cure, Joy Division…) and the “great classical groups” (Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin). Furthermore, globe-trotters parents made me discover the other musical horizons and especially the Brazilian music (Baden Powell, Luiz Henrique, Gilberto Gil).
Self-taught bass player, I received my first instrument in the age of 15 years, and I practiced alone then within several successive groups. I so multiplied the scenic experiences in Paris region with a group of rock between 1990 and 1994. We sought the label E.M.I. and signed a single, a first enriching experience but with no success !
Some time later, I bought my first 4 tracks Tascam and I began composing at home various creations. In time and the explosion of the digital technology, I discovered the M.A.O. and all which relates to it. I then decided to have a specific training around the sound and I set up a Home Studio. Beginning 2006, I decided to create my album.
The album “Le future sax de Paris” was realized during 2006. The techniques used are rather common: virtual and analogical synthesizers with keyboard midi, recording via audio recording of instruments (guitars, basses and keyboards), use of samples (for wind instruments). My permanent obsession was to aim towards a “sound perfection” at the level of groove. It emerges, I think, a background music with connotation jazzy “pleasant and relaxing” according to the critics.
The 14 tracks of the album, through fine melodies, make the beautiful part to crystalline guitars, deep basses and bewitching sax which get married in a touch of electronic atmospheres (“From day to day”) but also to the ambient (“Adonis”) or inspirations more “clubbing” (“Sneakily”). Indeed, my influences are diverse and varied, (Electronica, Ambient, IDM, Downtempo, Nujazz) like several styles and different periods, this eclecticism and this opening are found in my album.
